THE VERY VERY FIRST BLOG

(hmmhmm) Well hello...

This is my very first posting in this new blog. This blog is dedicated for my adventures in Katimavik. It's a youth-based volunteer program sponsored by Government of Canada (although I question how willing they are sometimes) where 10 kids between the ages of 17-21 from different parts of Canada come together and live in the same house while volunteering and a bunch of fun stuff. It's like a healthy "Big Brothers"...or is it?

Anyways I am creating this blog due to requests from my friends. Originally I just wrote emails about my daily occurances, but because of the way I wrote and the fact that I send mass emails to them, they said I should do a blog instead. Honestly I was against the idea of creating a blog because a) it's work, and technically people in Katimavik do not really have that type of time (except for me!) b) I wrote emails to my friends so I would be sure that they would reply me (although that's questionable) c) most important reason of all - I don't really want the kids in my group to see this. Not that I don't like the people (in fact I very much do) but it's another story having your life posted in front of the world to see, if you know what I mean...it's more like a protection for them in my part. But I also think a lot of good things will come out of this blog, so that's why I am going forward with this. Originally I wrote emails just as a way to keep in touch with my friends and balance my life back at home and here. However, the more I wrote the more I realized the importance of keeping track of these events - it shows us the growth of everyone and the group itself within the months, which will be precious at the end. Perhaps I will show them this at the end of our adventures.

You will find the blogs as email formats, and that's because they are mass emails that I have written before creating this blog and now I am just doing a straight copy-and-paste, haha. Photos will soon arrive.

To my friends - just because I am creating a blog doesn't mean you guys are exempt from writing to me. I think I will still write you mass emails, but feel free to comment here and WRITE ME EMAILS! I still care how your lives are =)
